Let's start with a little background on why we have made this an annual event. The Sioux Falls HVAC Association started this event with the intent to help low income and elderly people properly maintain their heating systems by offering no cost inspections on their furnaces. We are concerned with the amount of furnaces that do not get a yearly inspection that can possibly have harmful effects such as starting a house fire, causing carbon monoxide poisoning and/or increase costs of monthly heating bills.
A group of trained and certified technicians will conduct carbon monoxide checks, adjust thermostats, check for cracks in heat exchangers, check and change furnace filters, clean furnace blower wheels, make sure chimneys are clear and that the overall heating system is working properly. They will make minor repairs up to $100 value on damaged heating system equipment and if needed, advise home owners of any other repairs needed beyond the $100.
We hold this event each year in combination with Make A Difference Day. This year's event will be on Saturday, October 23, 2010. If you are interested in participating or know of any qualifying homeowners that may need or service, please have them or yourself fill out the application form below.
Any questions, please contact Jennie Patrick of Sioux Valley Energy at 1-800-234-1960 or Jay Goehring of Johnstone Supply at 1-605-338-2652.
